Three undergraduates in the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Georgia Tech have earned awards from the College of Sciences. These exemplary students have demonstrated excellence in academics, research, and leadership during their time at Georgia Tech. The School offers its sincerest congratulations to these amazing members of our undergraduate community!
Sara Dixon was awarded a Wartell and Brossette Award for Multidisciplinary Studies. This award honors students with demonstrated accomplishments at the intersection of biology and mathematics. As an undergraduate research in the Kamerlin laboratory, Sara has presented at a national meeting of the American Chemical Society—earning a top poster award—as well as the ACS Southern Undergraduate Research Conference and Georgia Tech Undergraduate Research Symposium.
Matthew Rohan was awarded a College of Sciences Undergraduate Research Award for excellence in research. Matthew has been a highly prolific member of the Kretchmer laboratory, in which he has published multiple papers on computational and theoretical chemistry.
Chloe Zhang was awarded a Virginia C. and Herschel V. Clanton Jr. Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate planning to enter a medical field who has demonstrated excellence in academics. Chloe has served as a teaching assistant in the First-year Chemistry Program and a peer advisor for the Office of International Education; she also recently earned a President's Undergraduate Research Award for her work in the laboratory of Prof. Andrew McShan.
